So rarely does one come across a piece from the early Visconti courts that is this intact. One can clearly see the rubies set into the mechanical facing. Bronze wings and wire accent this piece, and the startling rubies catch the eye, as well as a piece of ruby glass- said to have been shaped from one of the broken Visconti windows- for all their windows were made of coloured glass.
